The power grid is failing quickly as government entities use it as a revenue giant

Yesterday, we covered why the government makes it so that people are unable to leave the power grid. This is not the case in all areas, but in some places, it is not an option. Imagine living in New York City or Jersey City and disconnecting. Most areas do not have a way to generate viable power. Here is the primary concern, the National Power Grid is failing, which means that people are going to see continued mass outages and rising taxes from trying to support outdated technology. This article is to show the problem, which needs all of us to find valid solutions.

Grid Failure

In 2003, there was an extreme failure of the power grid that affected people from multiple states and a Canadian province. That failure should have caused people to realize there was a problem, especially two nations were working toward a solution. By 2013, it was proven that this was not the case, though the information and possible solutions were not clear. It is now 2024 and there has been talk, but there is no solid solution to stop another possible massive failure. The Texas outage shows that the problems are still there, but there have been no real solutions introduced. Basically, the solutions that have been worked on are to make the grid bigger and add green energy.

Natural Disasters

The 2003 outage was caused by the power company not paying attention to how trees were around the power lines and this knocked out the power. The 2021 Texas outage was because of the weather, as Texas was not prepared to handle winter weather of that magnitude. Puerto Rico has instability because of constant hurricane hits, which has them barely able to recover before another hit. Hawaii just had massive fires tear apart one of the islands, with them also needing to deal with possible volcano eruptions. Mother nature can wipe away the grid and all we can do is rebuild.

Assault by an Enemy

The power grid could be taken out by terrorists who find the right locations to physically assault and blow up. Foreign governments with more resources have the ability to strike pretty much wherever they want, though the deeper into the nation, the military can react easier. Both of these issues are viable problems, especially with the fact we have a border being allowed to be a sieve. There is also the risk of a cyber-attack, which is very possible with how often hackers take out modern necessities, like Change Healthcare and the US Military Procurement System. Just a few months ago, the Australian government suffered an attack that compromised millions of secure documents.

Current Government Work

The Biden Administration has said that they are concerned, which means that the green industry and environmentalists have plans for the National Power Grid. The initiative that the Administration proposed was called the “Building a Better Grid” Initiative in 2022. In 2023, 18 months later, the GAO released a report that showed that the DOE was not helping make sure that there were enough parts to fix the grid in case of failure. In January of this year, the Administration awarded grants to develop technology that supposedly could help but needs to be investigated for how much money was donated to the Biden campaign. Basically, the current Administration has shown they can talk a lot (mostly incoherently), but not actually do anything.

Innovation Matters

There have been several energy industry people talking about the need for more innovation, especially as the technology in the grid is fairly old. One study says that unless $130 billion is invested into powerline maintenance and installation, the problems will grow dramatically. In other words, as the power grid stands, the failures will continue to occur and the experts say that billions are needed to fix the problems because they have been ignored for too long. New technology is necessary, as what is there is no longer able to handle the power requirements of the nation.

Green Technology

Several green technologies are being used as examples of solutions for the needed power plants to bring new power to strengthen the grid. They have no positives. Solar wipes out the local environment, changing it in a way that can permanently scar an area. Wind takes quite a bit of oil, to the extent that when they leak, it becomes an environmental disaster in that area. Green technology should not be used in utility sized power generation, as it is not able to handle it.

Look, there are few solutions in this article. The solutions for the problems of the power grid need to come from those people who understand them and have common sense. Making the grid bigger sounds expensive and not practical in any way. I would like to present valid solutions, but I am not an electrical engineer. I am sounding a warning and hope that people keep the ball rolling. The current Administration is over their heads on every matter, so the continued decline is not surprising. This has been happening for decades and people are seeing the effects all the time. More taxation with no fixes is idiotic.

House GOP slashes millions in support of criminal aliens and abortions

The House GOP fought to remove questionable pet project funding from the federal budget, which included help for abortions and criminal aliens. This will save millions of taxpayers, which will also prevent voter backlash to members of the GOP who have done nothing when they have done nothing regarding their campaign promises. Some of the places that lost funding will cause an uproar within the LGBT community and their supporters, but it will also cut a bloated budget that is dragging us further into debt. Abortion Locations Congressman Robert Aderholt (Al-4) who is the Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, listed several of the projects that lost funding. Women and Infants Hospital in Rhode Island was to get $1.8 million and is known for late term abortions. Dartmouth Hitchcock, Nashua in New Hampshire was to receive $650,000 and is also known for late term abortions. These being removed cleared away a lot of the politica...

One of the ways modern healthcare is shaped by insurance

People need to be aware of the ways that insurance companies shape how doctors treat people, as it affects their personal care. There are multiple terms and groups that people have never heard of that become important to medical practices and getting paid. Some of the ways that insurance makes demands are common sense, which should make people wonder why doctors are doing certain things. At the same time, the demands raise administrative costs for doctors, while shaping how they can be paid. Quick Disclaimer This article is for education purposes, not as a complaint against any of the people mentioned. It is so that people will know about an important part of their lives. Much of the way that this information was gathered for understanding was by getting to talk with someone who has been an insurance quality professional for almost two decades. Some of it can be disturbing to some, while other parts are just a way for people to gain knowledge.  NCQA and HEDIS One of the grou...

Interview with Illinois 8th District GOP Candidate Mark Rice

All members of the House are up for election, which happens every two years. I am attempting to get all of them to answer 7 questions. This will most likely not happen this election cycle, but there will be some, such as Mark Rice, in this article. He is running for the Illinois 8 th Congressional District , which encompasses part of Chicago and the surrounding areas. The area has been represented by Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi since 2017, who has some strong stances, but is the typical Chicago and National Democrat. Mark Rice Here, from his campaign website , is a short biography on Rice. Here is a man that can understand the energy issues plaguing this nation. “Mark was a fourth generation Texan and attended college in Austin where he graduated in 1985 from the University of Texas. Mark has served on several boards in Illinois including the Jewish Community Center of Chicago, Camp Apache, and Project Interchange. He is the passionate founder of Trevian Youth Football on...
