Some thoughts on solving the problem of politicians not listening

People are quick to complain with the voice they're given in the modern world, but few have solutions or even study issues enough to know the complexities. There are ways to fix Congress, with the House of Representatives being the easiest to start with. It involves community, not a single voice, along with people knowing they will not get changes immediately. It involves planning and intelligence to pull all of this off.

Primary Campaign

Too many people vote for whichever candidate they have heard of in the primary. There is also the issue that too often the incumbent is voted back in, no matter how useless or corrupt they are. Just because a member of Congress has power does not mean they are useful to a local community. Remember, they are not your leader, they are your representative. Thus, the name House of Representatives. This means paying attention to and interacting with the candidates at the primary election is key.

Community Building

In the modern world, we have gotten away from actually interacting with our neighbors or those in the local area who have the same interests. New people move in and we have no idea who they are. You need to build local communities while keeping in mind that not everyone will agree all the time. Having groups that agree to everything scares me, to be honest. Diverse voices will help come up with solutions, as one person may have an idea and the others add their input, and there’s a solution.

National Pressure

If you do get a candidate you know will work to help the local community, you need to realize that the national party will put demands on them. This means they need to know they can get support back home, as the national party will fund people to run against them. The GOP will actually walk away if there are strong Democrats if they are unable to get your representative to fundraise for them or vote with them all the time. The local community is key to combating this, as is communication.

Intelligent Listening

One of the best members of Congress I ever met not only could not answer on many topics I would ask, but he admitted to this. He would listen and would look into the matter. Him admitting he did not know everything and not trying to change the topic meant he understood how to be a person, not a politician. This is why the primary is so important, to find the candidate that will listen to concerns and research what can be done. This is far more important than being able to speak like a pro or look like a Ken or Barbie doll.

Big Personalities

Many people run for office and have personalities others are drawn to. They are basically Barbie or Ken dolls that people want to have around to be the cool kids. Then there is the pseudo-intellectual who has many answers, but never actually listens. So many large personalities, but how many of these folks actually make changes for their district? Find people who are known to be workers, that do not always want attention, and can walk through a crowd listening more than talking. The big personalities will crave attention, which will become an addiction in DC.

These are just some of the ways that we can change Congress. We need people in the House who will be actual representatives, not national party puppets. This means that people will need to do work at home to get this to be a reality. Look at the relationship that Mark Meadows had with the Tea Party in his area to see how this can work.

House GOP slashes millions in support of criminal aliens and abortions

The House GOP fought to remove questionable pet project funding from the federal budget, which included help for abortions and criminal aliens. This will save millions of taxpayers, which will also prevent voter backlash to members of the GOP who have done nothing when they have done nothing regarding their campaign promises. Some of the places that lost funding will cause an uproar within the LGBT community and their supporters, but it will also cut a bloated budget that is dragging us further into debt. Abortion Locations Congressman Robert Aderholt (Al-4) who is the Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, listed several of the projects that lost funding. Women and Infants Hospital in Rhode Island was to get $1.8 million and is known for late term abortions. Dartmouth Hitchcock, Nashua in New Hampshire was to receive $650,000 and is also known for late term abortions. These being removed cleared away a lot of the politica...

One of the ways modern healthcare is shaped by insurance

People need to be aware of the ways that insurance companies shape how doctors treat people, as it affects their personal care. There are multiple terms and groups that people have never heard of that become important to medical practices and getting paid. Some of the ways that insurance makes demands are common sense, which should make people wonder why doctors are doing certain things. At the same time, the demands raise administrative costs for doctors, while shaping how they can be paid. Quick Disclaimer This article is for education purposes, not as a complaint against any of the people mentioned. It is so that people will know about an important part of their lives. Much of the way that this information was gathered for understanding was by getting to talk with someone who has been an insurance quality professional for almost two decades. Some of it can be disturbing to some, while other parts are just a way for people to gain knowledge.  NCQA and HEDIS One of the grou...

Interview with Illinois 8th District GOP Candidate Mark Rice

All members of the House are up for election, which happens every two years. I am attempting to get all of them to answer 7 questions. This will most likely not happen this election cycle, but there will be some, such as Mark Rice, in this article. He is running for the Illinois 8 th Congressional District , which encompasses part of Chicago and the surrounding areas. The area has been represented by Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi since 2017, who has some strong stances, but is the typical Chicago and National Democrat. Mark Rice Here, from his campaign website , is a short biography on Rice. Here is a man that can understand the energy issues plaguing this nation. “Mark was a fourth generation Texan and attended college in Austin where he graduated in 1985 from the University of Texas. Mark has served on several boards in Illinois including the Jewish Community Center of Chicago, Camp Apache, and Project Interchange. He is the passionate founder of Trevian Youth Football on...
